Pakistan’s Largest Business School NUST Seek Expertise from CIMA
NUST business School and Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Pakistan office, entered into a Memorandum of Agreement to combine resources and expertise to offer the BS Accounting and Finance program incorporating the CIMA Professional curriculum with the aim of preparing students for a challenging career as qualified professional accountants.The basic aim of this MoA is to enhance the relationship between CIMA and NUST business school by providing a faster track for university graduates to acquire both an accounting degree and CIMA professional qualification to enhance the quality of accounting and management education by incorporating professional requirements and needs in the programme structure
The representatives of CIMA who attended this ceremony were:

Mr. Bradley Emerson – Regional Director Middle East, South Asia and North Africa Region
Ms. Javaria Hassan – Country Manager, CIMA Pakistan
Ms. Zunaira Riaz – In-Charge Islamabad Office
CIMA Regional Director MESANA, Mr. Bradley Emerson speaking on the occasion said ‘Businesses globally will be constrained by the supply of talent for them to sustain their businesses. Talent is a combination of competency and confidence.

Pakistan which has a youthful population has the potential to supply talent to world and educational institutes have an obligation to nurture talent so that the national abilities are converted into global capabilities.

We are pleased that NUST share the same sentiments and are committed towards youth of Pakistan. Through the BSC Accounting and Finance program, graduates will now have an Advance Diploma in Management Accounting by CIMA which will make them professionally qualified graduates’<-----
In his remarks, Dr. Noel Tagoe, Executive Director of CIMA Education said that he was impressed with the kind of infrastructure NUST has which is comparable to any top class university in the world. He further stated that with the signing of MoA with NUST, CIMA would definitely achieve its objectives of imparting professional education with globally ranked universities.
Rector NUST, Engr. Muhammad Asghar said that this is a great moment for our business school to be linked with such a renowned global professional body. This initiative will certainly enhance the prestige of our program in Accounting and Finance. This will help us to prepare quality graduates fulfilling the requirements of professionalism and therefore acceptable to industry, home and abroad. It has been our endeavor to continuously strive for quality of the graduates and signing an MoA with CIMA is a major initiative in this direction.
